|
The Electrical Lead (or Electrical Supervisor) is responsible for overseeing all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement activities in the power plant to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment. The role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards, and coordinating with operations, instrumentation, and mechanical teams for smooth plant performance. |

3. Main Tasks & Accountabilities |
||||
|
Lead and supervise the electrical maintenance team, ensuring adherence to work schedules and safety practices. Plan, assign, and review the work of electricians and technicians. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical systems including: Generators, transformers, motors, switchgears, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and lighting systems. Ensure optimal availability and reliability of electrical equipment to support continuous plant operations. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently. Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities in coordination with other departments. Enforce strict compliance with electrical safety standards (NFPA, IEEE, IEC, etc.) and plant procedures. Conduct job safety analysis (JSA) and ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed. Maintain documentation related to safety inspections, incident reports, and risk assessments. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports. Support budgeting and procurement activities for electrical materials and services. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and develop corrective action plans. Support plant modification projects and equipment upgrades. Evaluate and recommend improvements in maintenance procedures and reliability practices. |

4. Working Environment |
|
60% office work, 40%Field work - Required availability/participate for any emergency response and periodic on-call duties if any. |

6. Background Knowledge & Experience. |

6.1 Education Level – Minimum Preferred

A Degree in Electrical Engineering |

6.2 Professional Qualifications or Licences |
Electrical Safety Certification / HV Switching Authorization. Maintenance Planning / Reliability Engineering certification

6.3 Work Experience
|
Minimum 8 years or 5+ years (for Supervisor) of experience in electrical maintenance within a power plant |

6.4 Skills Required |
Strong leadership and team management skills. In-depth knowledge of power generation electrical systems. Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and control drawings. Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong communication and reporting ability. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
