Job Purpose

Overseeing all operations of the Procurement & Logistics Dep, logistics division, ensuring smooth flow of materials from suppliers to BUs properly. Responsible for making shipping arrangements for local, inbound and outbound shipments. Tracking shipments from A to Z. Constant communication with various suppliers & 3PLs in the shipping process. Provide reports on cargo movements and various operational logistics issues.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

Safety

  • Participate in safety training related to industrial plants/projects to protect self and others.
  • Operate in a safe and risk-free manner according to the refinery safety regulations and local rules. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Analysing and optimizing logistical procedures.
  • Full coordination with the procurement team to pick up confirmed Purchase Orders and then coordinate with suppliers for on-time collection.
  • Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
  • Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and delivery shipments to BUs.
  • Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues.
  • Liaising and negotiating with logistics service companies.
  • Reviewing, preparing, and routing the transport service and customs exemption for purchase orders on time.
  • Document and communicate any routing delays.
  • Apply for documentation from MNR whenever is required.
  • Complete following up the transportation activities from suppliers’ premises to our warehouses of BUs.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Booking and creating AWBs according to our contracts with the 3PL.
  • Follow up shipments with 3PL from the A to Z till the final destinations.
  • Ensure appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous material are followed.
  • Track, and daily update on the tracking logistics sheet on the server.
  • Follow up all imports, exports, and interface with customs interface for shipments “Equipment, and materials” for both our company as well as its contractors.
  • Ensure that incoterms 2020 is fully understood and followed it up.
  • Track all Export and Import related issues with customs in all entry points of KRG.
  • Constant search for the most appropriate and cheapest shipping channel.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports on all activities.

Background Knowledge and Experience

Education Level – Minimum

                                 Preferred  

Have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business administration, or Transportation; Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management, or in a related field

Licences

A light vehicle driving license may be required.

Work Experience

 

  • 2 years’experiencing logistics & transportation procedures in gas and oil fields.
  • Knowledge of MRP, transport and customs clearance procedures, documentation and legal aspects in relation to same area.
